Housing affordability with different hourly wages in the U.S. 2023
Only renters with earnings in the 50th percentile or higher in the United States were able to afford a two-bedroom apartment. Those in the 60th and 70th percentile could afford to get a two-bedroom apartment in 2023. A majority of the largest occupations in the United States earned a hourly wage below the 50th percentile in 2023, making housing affordability an issue for anyone in these occupations.
